Mixed Martial Arts
Where all martial arts come together. Train like a fighter for fitness, self-defense, or competition. You never have to take a hit to train MMA.
What Is MMA?
Mixed Martial Arts ties everything together: the striking of kickboxing and Muay Thai, the takedowns of wrestling, and the ground control and submissions of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. It is the most complete combat system ever developed, tested every weekend at the highest levels of the UFC and beyond.
But here is what most people do not realize: you do not have to fight to train MMA, and you do not even need contact. Our MMA classes let you learn the full game, hitting pads, drilling takedowns, flowing through grappling exchanges, at exactly the intensity you choose. Sparring is always optional.
Whether you dream of competing as an amateur or pro, want the ultimate self-defense skill set, or simply want the most complete workout in martial arts, MMA at Wanderley meets you where you are.

Why Train MMA?
MMA training burns an enormous amount of calories. Rounds of striking, wrestling, and grappling build the kind of total-body conditioning that made MMA fighters famous as the best-conditioned athletes in sports. You will get stronger, faster, and leaner while learning skills no treadmill can teach.
Beyond the physical, MMA builds discipline, humility, and grit. Learning to stay composed while solving problems under pressure changes how you handle everything: work, school, stress, life. And because our room is built on safety and respect, you get all of it in an environment that welcomes complete beginners.
The Wanderley Difference
Very few gyms anywhere can match the MMA pedigree in this room. Professor Daniel Wanderley spent nearly a decade as the head BJJ coach at Roufusport, one of the most famous MMA gyms in the world. He has trained and cornered UFC champions like Anthony Pettis, coached Carla Esparza to the first UFC Strawweight title on The Ultimate Fighter, and awarded black belts to elite fighters like Gerald Meerschaert and Brendan Allen.
Head Striking Coach Jordan Mapa is a professional MMA fighter with a 7-4 record and 6 finishes who has taught at world-class gyms including Roufusport. And Coach Gabriel Wanderley is an active professional fighter, bringing current, competition-tested MMA into every class.
When you train MMA at Wanderley, you are learning from coaches who have actually built champions, in a room where hobbyists and pros push each other and everyone belongs.

“Honestly when trying out this gym for the very first time I didn't know what to expect. But they really exceeded my expectations. They did things that other coaches at other gyms don't think about. Wanderley is definitely a good option if you're looking to train MMA for fun or to become pro.”
“One of my favorite places in Milwaukee to be. A great spot for kids, adults, and fighters to come train. Professor Wanderley does a fantastic job!”

“Hands down the BEST academy to learn jujitsu and MMA. My son has been with Professor Daniel and Coach Gabe now for 7 years and has learned not only the art of the sport but has taught him life skills too.”
